The Light Breaks Through

I went back to Dutchman Falls in Pennsylvania again over Easter weekend with the intention of shooting some more intimate long views of this interesting rock at the base of the falls.

When the morning sunlight started to come through the tree branches I was disappointed at first; direct sunlight on small spots of a shadowy waterfall can be really difficult to capture. I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was a strong warmth to the light that beautifully contrasted the cool colors of the running water in the shade.
